At SummerSlam 2020, Asuka challenged for both the SmackDown Women’s Championship and the Raw Women’s Championship in two separate matches. Although she came up short against SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley, Asuka defeated Sasha Banks later in the night to reclaim the Raw Women’s Championship.
