In a match made by a maniacal Mr. McMahon, Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch cashed in a golden opportunity on the June 4 Raw and defeated The Hardys to claim the World Tag Team Championship.

Cade and Murdoch wanted to wait until The Hardys were 100 percent recovered from their ladder match the night before; however, McMahon ordered the match happen on Raw. The Southern duo took advantage, with Cade pinning Jeff after a missed Swanton Bomb to begin their second reign with the gold.
