During The Alliance’s struggle to take over WWE, Diamond Dallas Page reunited with Kanyon to reform their tag team from their WCW days. The pairing proved to be a good one once again, as they defeated the APA for the World Tag Team Championship on an edition of SmackDown. Their success would be short-lived, however, as they went on to lose the titles at SummerSlam 2001 to Undertaker and Kane.
