Big Boss Man, who was the Hardcore Champion, and Ken Shamrock, who was the Intercontinental Champion, teamed up together in search of even more gold. They faced the New Age Outlaws on an edition of Raw and achieved that goal. During the match, Shawn Michaels ran out and nailed Billy Gunn with Big Boss Man’s nightstick. This allowed Shamrock to hook in the ankle lock, and new World Tag Team Champions were crowned. Their title reign would go on to last just over a month.
