For weeks, “acting” SmackDown general manager Vickie Guerrero and Dolph Ziggler had been plotting ways for him to take the title from Edge. After banning the Spear, (and Edge using it against Ziggler the week before) Vickie finally found a way to get the title for her boyfriend. But, during Ziggler’s championship coronation, SmackDown general manager Theodore Long returned after a mysterious attack in January. Ziggler’s short reign was over when Teddy immediately called for a World Heavyweight Championship match between Ziggler and Edge to determine the true champion.
