After the controversy of Sting’s victory at Starrcade 1997, the title was vacated and a rematch between Hogan and Sting was ordered. In the highly-anticipated rematch, Sting defeated Hollywood Hogan to become the undisputed WCW World Heavyweight Champion, fighting off not only Hogan, but the entire nWo. After Sting defeated Hogan, he spray-painted WCW across the chest of the leader of the New World Order.
