Orlando Jordan got his first taste of WWE gold when he won the United States Championship from John Cena on the March 3 edition of SmackDown. Although Jordan got the win, he didn’t quite do it on his own. JBL and The Bashams pretended to leave the arena, only to come back during Jordan’s match. With the referee distracted by The Bashams, JBL snuck up on Cena and nailed him with the WWE Championship belt. After that the pin was academic and Jordan was crowned the new United States Champion as JBL’s cabinet added more hardware to their resume.
