“Superstar” Billy Graham had come up on the short end of the stick several times when it came to facing WWE Champion Bruno Sammartino, but he finally pulled out the victory in April 1977. Graham went on to hold the title for almost a year. In that time he faced such legendary superstars as Sammartino, Bob Backlund, and WWE Hall of Famers Ivan Putski, Gorilla Monsoon, and “Chief” Jay Strongbow.
