Former Intercontinental Champion and World Tag Team Champion Jeff Hardy captured the Light Heavyweight Championship in June 2001 when he defeated Jerry Lynn on SmackDown. Later in the month, Hardy lost the Light Heavyweight Championship to X-Pac on Raw.
