After Bad News Barrett suffered a serious injury, a battle royal was set for WWE Battleground to determine a new Intercontinental Champion. Following a lengthy absence to film a movie, The Miz returned to WWE insisting he’d left Cleveland behind and would now hail from Hollywood, California. With a new Tinseltown attitude, The Miz won his third Intercontinental Championship by remaining hidden for much of the melee, only emerging to eliminate Dolph Ziggler and claim victory and the title.
