After winning a battle royal at the beginning of WWE Over the Limit, Christian was presented with the option to challenge Santino Marella for the United States Championship or Cody Rhodes for the Intercontinental Championship. Captain Charisma chose to battle Rhodes and the two squared off later in the evening. After being out of action for months, Christian’s experience shined and he claimed victory capturing the prestigious title.
