Test, who was held the World Tag Team Championship at the time with Booker T, was out for more gold when he took on Edge for the Intercontinental Championship on a November 2001 edition of Raw. Edge was at a disadvantage form the start, as he also had to contend with Booker T who accompanied Test to the ring. Test went for the finish with a powerbomb, but Edge countered into a pinfall attempt. Test kicked out, and Edge went to the top rope. Test knocked the referee into the ropes, causing Edge to fall. Test then went for the pin and used the ropes as leverage for his first Intercontinental Championship.
