Rude challenged Warrior to a super pose-down at the Royal Rumble. Frustrated with the fans favoring Warrior, Rude attacked his nemesis and choked him out. This incident led to a match at WrestleMania V, and with the help of his manager Bobby “The Brain” Heenan, Rude came away with the Intercontinental Championship.
