While Bálor made history as the first-ever Universal Champion, his rise to superstardom began long before his WWE debut. The Irishman’s journey started at 18, competing in his home country, before moving to Japan, where he became a star, capturing multiple championships and forming influential factions.

After transitioning to NXT, Bálor quickly established himself as a top talent, capturing the NXT Championship in a historic reign. His quiet precision in the ring, paired with the chilling persona of “The Demon,” made him one of the most captivating Superstars in WWE. Bálor’s accolades include Intercontinental Championship, United States Championship, and World Tag Team Championship victories.

In 2021, Bálor joined the dark faction, The Judgment Day, alongside Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley, where they terrorized WWE. Over time, Bálor earned three World Tag Team Championship reigns, two with Priest and one with fellow Irishman JD McDonagh, whom Bálor recruited.

However, as Priest’s hunger for power grew, Bálor’s frustrations reached a boiling point. After Priest claimed the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XL, Bálor turned on him at SummerSlam 2024, forming a new version of The Judgment Day.
