Following in the footsteps of your father is no easy task to begin with, let alone when he’s arguably the most legendary luchador of all time. But “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio couldn’t care less about the family legacy.

First gracing the WWE Universe’s screens as a child during his father’s legendary rivalry with Eddie Guerrero, Dominik has re-emerged as a Superstar in his own right. Dominik’s squared-circle training was fast-tracked when his hand was all but forced by Seth Rollins’ highly personal rivalry with Rey Mysterio. Dom defended his family’s honor, making his in-ring debut in a Street Fight at SummerSlam 2020. He impressed in his debut, showcasing promising potential and making his father proud in a gutsy, though losing effort.

Dominik made history by winning the SmackDown Tag Team Titles alongside Rey Mysterio to become the first father-and-son tandem to capture the Tag Team Titles in WWE history. But when he felt slighted by his father’s decision to team with Edge instead of his own son, Dom rebelled, viciously attacking Rey at WWE Clash at the Castle 2022 and joining The Judgment Day.

From falling in love with “Mami” Rhea Ripley to a Christmas spent in prison, the innocent Dominik the world knew transformed into “Dirty” Dom, one of the most hated Superstars to ever step inside a WWE ring. Every time Dom touched a microphone, a sea of boos would drown out every word. 

Dom came up short in battles against his father at WrestleManias 39 and XL, but he started to build an impressive resume, with two NXT North American Title reigns and victories over former World Champions like AJ Styles and Damian Priest.

Ripley was a ringside fixture for Dom’s greatest moments in 2022 and 2023, but when she was injured in April 2024, her rival Liv Morgan began to flirt with Dom. And at SummerSlam 2024, Dom shocked the world by betraying Ripley to align with Morgan and form a new Judgment Day.

Though the fans hated Mysterio even more, Morgan encouraged him to reach new heights in his career. She pushed for him to challenge the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 41, where Mysterio finally rose to the occasion, earning his first WrestleMania victory by surviving a Fatal 4-Way Match to claim the title.

Love him or hate him, Mysterio is building his own legacy.
